Product Description

The HP Robots Otto Starter Creator Kit includes all the core hardware, advanced electronics, and smart sensors of the standard starter kit, with one major twist: it does not include the pre-printed plastic outer shell.

Designed specifically for schools with 3D printers, digital fabrication labs, and tech-savvy hobbyists, this kit drops the student directly into the role of a product designer. Instead of simply snapping pre-made parts together, users must download the open-source blueprints, slice the files, and 3D-print the robot’s physical body themselves before assembly.

Key Features & Differences From the Builder Kit

  • 3D Print-Ready (No Plastics Included): Eliminates unnecessary plastic waste if you already own a 3D printer. It provides a highly rewarding, cross-disciplinary project that bridges the gap between 3D design, physical engineering, and software coding.

  • Ultimate Customisation: Because you control the manufacturing of the outer shell, students can choose their own color combinations, remix the CAD files (via Tinkercad or Makers Empire), and print custom accessories like hats, different faceplates, or mechanical add-ons.

  • Upgraded ESP32 Brain: Features a powerful, custom-made microcontroller board based on the ESP32 chip, bringing built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a fast USB-C programming port, and a built-in battery management system.

  • Vibrant Expressive Electronics: Equipped with an addressable 13-RGB LED light ring for glowing, expressive eyes and customised light patterns, paired with an integrated 80dB buzzer for robotic sound effects and music.

  • Advanced Mobility & Navigation: Includes dual high-torque, continuous-rotation micro servo motors with resilient metal gears, along with an ultrasonic distance sensor for obstacle avoidance and twin infrared sensors for precision line-following races.

Programming support: WebCode platform (Block-based Scratch, live Python preview, C++ Arduino IDE)
Group use: Up to 2
