What is Amazon’s Think Big program?
Think Big is an Amazon initiative that provides memorable experiences for young people and adults across the globe! The Amazon Mobile Think Big Space is a program by Amazon that brings coding and robotics workshops directly to primary schools, aiming to introduce young students to technology and support digital learning in local communities.
Workshops are currently available to schools in the areas of Hemel Hempstead, Houghton Regis, Iver, Hillingdon, Slough and Didcot.
What do we offer?
Through the Amazon Think Big Mobile program, we offer:
- Up to 3 x 90 minute workshops per day, fully-funded by Amazon, for Years 3-11
- Deliver highly memorable, relevant and practical STEM workshops using the latest STEM kits
- Workshop experiences that are aligned to the National Curriculum standards
What does a typical STEM workshop look like?
- An introduction to STEAM and why it is important for their futures
- Discussions linked to STEAM careers
- How AI and robotics is being used in the workplace
- The importance of the Cloud
- A hands-on experience, using STEM kits such as LEGO® Education Spike Essential

Computing
- Design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts
- Use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output
- Use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs
Design and Technology
- Generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through discussion

How do I book a workshop?
To book a workshop, please use our calendar booking section below. To book, simply select your desired date, select the time window below and then fill in the workshop fields provided. Once you have done this, we will be in contact to discuss your workshop needs, including pupil ability, workshop space and the necessary documentation such as our enhanced DBS and photo ID. Please note, each school can book up to four workshop days per calendar year.

What is the maximum number of students in a workshop?
We bring enough STEM kits to cater for 32 pupils at any given time.
Do you deliver workshops to alternative provisions such as special schools and pupil referral units?
Absolutely! We would very much welcome the opportunity and will work with you to ensure the workshop is suitable for all of your learners to participate
What type of space do you need to deliver the workshop?
In most circumstances, your usual classroom setup is perfect for us! We will need tables and access to a screen to deliver the session

Science and Sustainability
Pupils will learn about the emerging needs of our planet through a hands-on workshop. They will discover the importance of renewable energy, as well as how to look after our planet. These workshops will use a different range of STEM kits, including the all-new LEGO® Education Science kits launching in August!
AI
Pupils will discover the impact AI is having on our everyday lives. They will learn about Machine Learning, Prompt Engineering, Generative AI and also discuss the ethical use of AI in school and the workplace. During these workshops, pupils will use a range of robots that harness the power of AI, in addition to child-appropriate software to make the sessions hands-on and memorable.
