Seeker, a new programmable and adaptable robot by Pitsco Education, introduces middle school students to coding, robotics, and careers through the lens of technology for good. Seeker is designed to spark students’ interest in STEM and prepare them for digital-age careers. Beginner friendly and classroom ready, Seeker enables educators with no prior experience to provide an engaging computer science experience. Seeker comes with everything teachers need to get started, including one year of access to 40 hours of standards-aligned curriculum and a variety of resources such as a getting started guide, unit teacher's guides, solution code, standards alignment, and more.

Seeker brings computer science and robotics to life, helping students connect the dots between the concepts they're learning and their real-world applications.

Seeker comes with five units comprising nine weeks of curriculum featuring block-based coding. Each unit includes:

• Computer science, technology, robotics, and entrepreneurial concepts
• Quick engineering adaptations to the robot
• Connections to multiple careers
• Cross-curricular integrations
• Writing component utilizing the Innovation Notebook
• Testing and debugging code on a physical and simulated robot
• Quizzes and checkpoints to assure understanding and review concepts

The content features an engaging storyline whereby the students act as an innovation specialist for a start-up company that has invented Seeker. The students will work alongside a variety of career professionals to learn about the issues they face and then program and adapt the robot to assist them. Each unit focuses on a different career cluster, and learners will explore how programmable robots can be utilized in that cluster. Students work through the curriculum in pairs, fostering the development of workplace readiness skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and perseverance.

Pitsco Learning Portal

The Seeker content is accessible through the 100% web-based Pitsco Learning Portal, which features a variety of learning and classroom management tools.

• Teachers can create their classrooms, enroll students using no identifiable credentials, utilize the provided Seeker course or create their own course, utilize the provided assignments or create their own, track student progress, and more.
• Students can view the content and access the programming environment at the same time, enabling them to follow along as they code. Student progress is automatically saved through the platform.
• Students will also utilize the simulator to test and iterate their code on a digital robot.
